Civilization Build on the Rock

13 “Enter in by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter in by it. 14 How the gate is narrow and the way is restricted that leads to life! There are who find it.

15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves. 16 By their fruits you will know them. Do you gather grapes from thorns or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree produces good fruit, but the corrupt tree produces evil fruit. 18 A good tree can’t produce evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree produce good fruit. 19 Every tree that doesn’t grow good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will tell me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in your name, in your name cast out demons, and in your name do many mighty works?’ 23 Then I will tell them, ‘I never knew you. Depart from me, you who work iniquity.’

24 “Everyone therefore who hears these words of mine and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on a rock. 25 The rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it didn’t fall, for it was founded on the rock. 26 Everyone who hears these words of mine and doesn’t do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 The rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell—and its fall was great.”

28 When Jesus had finished saying these things, the multitudes were astonished at his teaching, 29 for he taught them with authority, and not like the scribes.

Western civilization was orginally built on the rock of Judeo/Christian values.  The great Cathedrals in Europe, the printing press that printed the Bible, the endurance of the Jewish faith, all had their part in forming the nations of Europe and the United States.  From there, missionaries went out throughout the world.

Now these foundations are being undermined.

Jesus said, if the tree is good, the fruit is good.  The tree of socialism and communism seeping into society is not good; the fruit is not good.

We see riots, defunding the police, increase in theft and murders, businesses broken and burned, education halted and cities emptied.

The fruit is not good.

When things stop working it is time to go back to the basics.  It is time to go back to the roots of civilization and society and find what worked.

2 + 2 = 4

Principles are timeless.

2 + 2 = 4.

Today.  Tomorrow.  Forever.

 

The moral principles of God remain true.

Today.  Tomorrow.  Forever.

They work for individuals.  They work for civilizations.

Men and nations need to redicate themselves to relearning the principles of the Lord and living them.

It is not time to guess and throw spaghetti at the wall and hope something sticks.

God gives the principles that are true and enduring.  Mankind needs to abide by them.

This is why certain speeches, or authors, have a certain timelessness to their writings.  The principles were true then.  They are true now.  They are timeless.

Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.

Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great battle-field of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of that field, as a final resting place for those who here gave their lives that that nation might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.

But, in a larger sense, we can not dedicate — we can not consecrate — we can not hallow — this ground. The brave men, living and dead, who struggled here, have consecrated it, far above our poor power to add or detract. The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here. It is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us — that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion — that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain — that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom — and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.

There is a certain awareness that if we as individuals and society do not resist the deluge of evil philosophies seeking to overtake the nation, that deluge will wash away all that is near and dear leaving nothing but destruction in the wake.

For all those who want to be a part of returning western civilization to its moral foundation, this is your scripture.

Isaiah 60 :1   “Arise, shine; for your light has come,
and Yahweh’s glory has risen on you.
For, behold, darkness will cover the earth,
and thick darkness the peoples;
but Yahweh will arise on you,
and his glory shall be seen on you.
Nations will come to your light,
and kings to the brightness of your rising.

Find your part and do it.  Be faithful.  We all have a different part but working together, the power of being One, as Jesus prayed, will defeat the forces of socialism, communism, and all that seeks to destroy society.
